Practice Makes Perfect!

Everyone can always benefit from practice and shooting is no different. That is why we have not one but TWO designated practice days for all members and non-members, as well as their friends, family, co-workers and clients.

Come out and join us every Thursday and Sunday and enjoy over 30 traps across two ranges offering unlimited shots. The upper range is a dedicated trap range and offers an elevated platform for shooters, complete with a moving wobble trap. The lower range offers over 20 traps that throw realistic bird hunting shots as well as trap, skeet and sporting clays. The dreaded tower where traps #17 and #18 are housed is perfect for dove, duck and goose hunters while traps #3, #4 and the Doubles are great for quail hunters. Don’t worry pheasant shooters, we’ve got LOTS of shots for you as well it’s just too many to list here. Whether you love skeet, trap or sporting clays, you will be amazed at our phenomenal shooting facility conveniently located in Central Virginia.

The school has a wide selection of shotguns available for gun hire. All gauges are available and you will have your choice in break-action or semi-automatic. Some of the models include Browning, Krieghoff, Beretta and Remington. Henry, Kate and Dennis are excellent at gun-fitting and will be more than happy to assist in selecting a gun that is right for you and your shooting success. Shells are available for purchase; however, we always recommend bringing your own. Eye and ear protection are always gratis, as well as bottled waters while visiting the facility.

Reservations are not necessary for any of our Open Shoots. Please observe the posted 10mph speed limit and kindly respect our neighbors when coming and going from the facility. The sporting clays course is just one of many disciplines offered at Cavalier Rifle & Pistol Club.
